It was a great stay and exactly what I was looking for , so thankful for the little cabin having an ever essential to be able to cook !

We stayed here 7 yrs ago and again yesterday and it was just as excellent as the first time! Thanks for the great spot and relaxing stay!

I stayed at the Turquoise Door for approximately 11 nights and was very satisfied with it!

There were a few issues upon arrival, at no fault of the owner. They were addressed and solved promptly. We enjoyed making s’mores by the fire pit and even got to see the northern lights for a short period. Overall it’s a great spot!

My wife and I stayed here for a trip to visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. It was the perfect distance from the park and also was a place we wish we could’ve stayed at for much longer than we did. It’s small, cozy and you feel like you have your own oasis. We look forward to our return one day!

Very comfy bed. Our host was very responsive. We had a slight issue, and Charley responded right away and made sure that it was immediately resolved and that we were happy. We enjoyed sitting outside at night and seeing the Milky Way since it was such a dark sky area. Good place to stay while visiting the Black Canyon.

WOW. We are already planning a 3 day trip out there because one night just wasn’t enough to really enjoy it thoroughly. It was cozy and fun- the perfect mix.

This booking was amazing, and i’m for sure coming back to it. The place had it all from views to Q tips; Charley was a great host with much to offer at any given time. The tiny home sat perfectly under the stars with many outdoor activities to do, for sure would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet place to stay.

This was a lovely stay for a few days! The property is nice to relax on, and there are an abundance of wineries, orchards, restaurants and trails nearby to check out.

I had asked for recommendations on local activities and Charley responded, suggested visiting Grand Mesa and I am so glad I did- beautiful mountain! The tiny place was as described. Charley was around caring for the property grounds and is very friendly. After a hot day, the house was nice and cool inside because Charley had turned on the window cooler and fans. It was clean and had just about every amenity one would need in a cozy little place. I enjoyed the rural setting, the smell of baling hay across the street, the quiet nights, and the hammock! The location turned out to be a good midpoint between North and South rims of Black Canyon on the Gunnison, so I could visit both.

This is an awesome “tiny home”, once inside it didn’t feel like a tiny home. Very private and far enough where you don’t hear your neighbors, also was in a perfect location and perfect atmosphere just sitting outside and enjoying the views!

Comfortable inside and a lot of space with a nice fireplace outside. We had a pleasant stay and a good starting point to explore the region: Hiking in the Grand Mesa Mountains, boot trip on the Gunnison River, checking out neolithic petroglyphs, wine and cider tastings. We finished each day with a BBQ, sitting around the fire place.

i wish i could rate this tiny house 10 stars. with expectations to be here really only to sleep and eat, we ended up staying almost two full days here without leaving once. everything about the tiny house and the location was perfect. the house was so comfortable, has amazing views, and a lovely atmosphere overall. after being here, i would absolutely stay here every single time i came through this way!!

Very nice little cabins!

Over all had a great stay. Only thing to be mindful about is that the place can feel small for 3adults especially when using the bathroom. It’s perfect for a couple traveling with their kid. Location was very convenient to access the Black canyon park. There is a town close by about 10-15mins away as well.

Charley's tiny house is the perfect base camp for trips to Gunnison National Park and the rest of the western slope. It's really well stocked, easily accessible, and a comfortable place to relax after a day outside. The fire place is well stocked, and well equipped for a night of smores!

Charley's place is amazing! Quiet and peaceful, super clean and comfortable. It was the perfect place to come home to each evening after exploring the Grand Valley. Charley has all the need-to-know instructions in a binder. He is available via text, and checks in to see if you have any questions, while respecting your privacy. He is one of the best hosts we have ever had. Be sure to take a morning or evening walk down to the draw and watch the river go by - beautiful!

My family and I really enjoyed our time in this tiny home. It was the perfect size for the four of us and had everything we needed. I loved being able to watch the sunset and sunrise as soon as I walked out the door. My husband really appreciated that firewood was provided for a bonfire. On top of that, Charley was an amazing host.Couldn’t have asked for a better stay! We loved it so much that we decided to stay an extra night. Can’t wait to be back for a longer amount of time.

My boyfriend and I were out in Colorado for a concert at red rock but decided to explore for a few days beforehand. We were out in Ouray and I wanted to get a place kind of close to there. I made a last minute reservation and was welcomed. All the information I needed was provided in message before I arrived. The place was definitely quiet. I really wanted to take advantage of the fire outside but it was raining on and off. Although I didn’t use the kitchen area, I noticed it was STOCKED with all the goods. Seasonings are definitely readily available. I did get to watch a few episodes of Lost on Hulu; there is a smart TV. If I’m ever back in the area I’d want to stay again.

Located on a plateau above the Gunnison River the views are stunning! My tiny home was clean and comfortable with so many fun little details. Outside was a fire pit and hammocks and table. Definitely walk down to The Draw for sunset!

Our cabin was really beautiful, even better than the pictures. it's a small cabin, but very self sufficient. You have everything you need. We absolutely loved the location. It was so peaceful to just sit on the hammock, by the fire pit, or just look at the tractor working in the fields, a man training a horse across the road with snow capped mountains on the back. Uff so beautiful and blissful! We would love to come back! Thanks Charley for a wonderful stay!

If you want a place take your child, ( meaning a dog), this will be your home for your stay. Very peaceful and very clean and they have everything that you could possibly need or want for your stay. I'm going back there.

Cozy, well appointed, and utterly serene. This tiny home managed to offer a great kitchen, comfy beds, a neat, tucked away loft our teenager loved, and neat, rustic furnishings. Guides to local attractions were available, and a short, scenic walk to the Gunnison River was at our doorstep.

This was an adorable, cozy tiny home! We only stayed two nights, but it was a delightful stay. It was very clean and tidy, but not to the point of feeling sterile or lacking personality. The kitchen had a bunch of tools to cook with, and plenty of amenities available throughout. The loft with the skylights was perfect for stargazing. We enjoyed our stay in this little hidden gem of a cabin!

Didn't spend much time there, just there to sleep 2 nights as we were out and about all day long. upon arrival, which ended up being late/after dark the first night, the unit had a strong odor of Marijuana. I notified Charley immediately, opened all windows, and aired out the unit all night long, and odor dissipated the next day. Charley responded the next day, apologizing and offering to send over the cleaning crew, but we declined as we were able to open windows. All in all, a nice stay.

I was able to check in earlier than the listed check in time, which worked well cause I drove from a few states away. I really enjoyed the peaceful environment and the ability to see the night sky.

Wonderful set of tiny homes. Turquoise Door was just as expected. Found myself saying “this place is so cute” several times. Nicely stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, nice outdoor area with fire pit. Even when people were at the other tiny homes it still felt very private. Close to several amenities and beautiful outdoor recreation areas. Charley was responsive and friendly. I’ll be back!

This was the best hospitality I have ever received using Airbnb. The snack accommodations and fully equipped kitchen made me feel like I was at a hotel. The place is also located only 50 paces from a nice trail along a river. Loved staying here and will definitely be back!

I can’t speak highly enough of our trip! Every accommodation you could wish for, and an unbelievably welcoming host. He’s cleared out a great trail following the river that has great sights of the nearby canyon landscapes. If you’re a nature lover like me, you’ll be excited to see tons of bird species including quails, hummingbirds, warblers, buntings, kingfishers, cormorants and more! The stars at night were amazing and we could even see the Milky Way. Definitely a great place to use as a base on your adventures!

We arrived super late unfortunately, but Charley was great! The stars were out and the house was ready. We stayed until the last second because we didn’t want to leave! Even my son said he wants to live in a place like the Turquoise door! Very well done! :)

The turquoise door was exactly what we needed. A beautiful sunset welcomed us and we rose to an incredible sunrise right out the front window. The small touches made this place feel even more special. A comfy bed and a hot shower were what we came for but it provided so much more. Jen was excited for the coffee!! We loved staying here.

Our stay was a last minute stop just passing through. My daughter wanted to stay in a cabin at least one night on vacation. We booked this morning of our visit. It was very easy to find and it was well stocked. It’s such an adorable space. My girls especially loved the loft with the bed, popsicles in the freezer and the little jar to leave happy notes. We didn’t have a fire due to dry conditions but everything we needed to have a fire was there. Take the little walk down to the lookout for a sunset or sunrise. They have a book with so many good recommendations for things in the area. The hammocks and covered picnic table was the perfect place for a couple rounds of early morning card games with my kids. They have some books and cards and games available. Was the perfect little stop and my kids wanted to stay the rest of our vacation right there. Would 110% stay again if we are in the area!

I stayed at Charley’s place for two days. Everything is accurately described in the profile. There are also a few warm touches in the house that enhances the experience a lot. Very decent place to stay. My only issue is the flies, big and small ones. There are a bit too many of them. I hope this can help with the future improvement.

Third time staying at the Turquoise Door. This time was for two weeks visiting my daughter and family in Delta. Great place to stay with nice little touches that make it feel homey. I'm a hiker and within an hours drive there are some fantastic hikes. Local wines up near Paonia Charley is a great host and I'd recommend staying at any of his tiny houses.

This is my wife and i's second stay at the turquoise door. This time we brought our friends along to stay with us. We stayed for one week . What i really like most about Charley's space here is that its very centrally located for lots of breath taking views and fun things to do. We were about an hour away from a bunch of major sights to see, Grand Mesa, Escalante-Dominguez Conservation area, Grand Junction, Black Canyon and so many others. We played golf at cedaredge golf course and devils thumb course in delta. And when we werent out sight seeing and fishing we were hanging out in the front of our tiny homes grilling, playing cards and enjoying eachothers company with the san juan to the south, grand mesa to the north and gunnison natl forest to the west all in view. Charley is a great host and even found time to come greet us on our stay. didnt need to contact him for anything really. Everything we needed was already in place for us to enjoy a week of bliss in the high deser. 10/10

This was the perfect place for me and my girlfriend to celebrate my 32nd birthday. The fire pit outside came in clutch so we could enjoy the cooler desert climate after the sun goes down. Plenty of spots to sit and relax around the campfire under the stars. The bathroom has an infrared light, a detail I missed when reading the amenities, that was probably one of our favorite things about this tiny home. That and the little loft/fort that made us feel like little kids again. We ended up taking a day trip to the black canyon of the Gunnison National Park which I highly recommend. It’s about an hr drive, but it’s totally worth it. Thanks again Charlie for letting us stay on your beautiful property, we hope to come back sometime and enjoy it once again!

We stayed a night at the turquoise door this Memorial Day weekend. It was a great experience! The tiny home was just what we expected and Charley was a great host. He had the fire set up for our arrival so that all we needed to do was light it. There were also otter pops included in the freezer which were such a great touch. Loved having them while laying in the hammock

A great weekend retreat for us! The drive from Denver was beautiful and the stay was seamless.

This was such a great stay! We arrived late at night but were still able to find our place. Charley used mostly automated responses—I couldn’t say if I ever received a genuine response—which were helpful with basic information. The Airbnb itself was well stocked for such a small house! That was part of the charm with not being too furnished but still livable amount of amenities for those taking small steps into tiny house living. We enjoyed the somewhat remote location. Orchard City is about 45 mins-1 hour drive to any larger city but plenty of little towns dotted along the way. If you’re looking for trails and outdoor things to do, I highly recommend the app AllTrails. The app shows local trails and trips and you can see how they’re reviewed by other hikers. It made our time at our stay so much more exciting. The other tiny houses were a little closer than I had thought but our neighbors (when we had any) were very respectful of our privacy. I would recommend these stays to everyone!

What a great place to stop on a road trip…This tiny house has views of sunset and sunrise and has easy parking and great outdoor space. Quiet, and you can see the stars, if you’re lucky a beautiful shooting star! Bed was super comfy, wish I could have stayed a touch longer. Thanks Charley!

The Tiny house was very charming and cozy for me, my husband and fur babies. The walk to and overview of the river was very cool. The area surrounding the Tiny homes was great for the dogs. Many nearby cities to explore which all have amenities, restaurants, activities etx. We’ve been in many of the surrounding areas and this is one of our favorites. Charlie is wonderful to work with and tiny home was fun and completely comfy. We highly recommend staying in one of Charley’s Tiny homes any time of year! He doesn’t disappoint. We’ll be back!

Second time staying here on a roadtrip with my partner: once on the way out and once on the way back. It's that good! Charley has a great property and has provided what you need to feel at home in his tiny homes, including a great guest binder. One of our favorite parts of staying at the Turquoise Door is the ability to have a bonfire - Charley provides lots of wood! A good tip would be to pick up the tiniest bag of charcoal on your way in, we borrowed some from a neighbor and it proved to be the perfect shortcut to a fantastic fire. Can't wait to stay here again!

The Turquoise Door is awesome! Very welcoming and cute, but has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The home was well stocked with all of the extras. The space is well used and tastefully decorated. The location was very quiet and serene. The store was only 5 minutes away and has everything fresh and tasty!

I loved how peaceful the environment was. Charley was very responsive, attentive and friendly. We loved exploring the town and had some great foods near the cabin (there are some recommendations by Charlie) It was so nice to wake up and step outside and see the surrounding areas. On our second day we drove to Ouray hot springs which was only an hour away, with beautiful scenery. I definitely recommend driving there when the sun is still out and bring some good boots! This place is great to unwind and relax. Definitely feel refreshed after leaving.

My partner and I stayed two nights at the Turquoise Door - and LOVED it! The size of the home was perfect for our needs. We had a fire the first night with the provided supplies, and stargazed under the March full moon. Charley was a fantastic host: he responded to questions about local recommendations, provided a great binder in the cabin, and even introduced himself in person when he was around doing upkeep. The bathroom was clean, a good size, and kept warm by the heat lamp. And it was great to have a full sized fridge. Everything was exactly as promised & I cannot wait to stay at the Turquoise Door again!!!

We loved our stay here! It was more than enough space for two people and we enjoyed the River right next to the location. There was a beautiful overlook where we enjoyed a sunset dinner one evening and the sunrise the next morning. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, this is the place to do it. So peaceful and Charley was so helpful. Definitely hope to come back!

This tiny home was great. It is super homey and cozy. You get really comfortable right away. It is in a beautiful area and you get your privacy as promised. The host is very nice and super responsive when needed. We definitely want to come back someday!

The place itself is clean and cozy, looking as described. There were some parts that I wish were better though. We arrived when it was dark and the navigation couldn’t find the place so we had to drive around the ‘town’ for many times, and the host didn’t respond to my text(there was no way to call). Communication felt rough as the host didn’t respond to my text also earlier in the day. The bathroom switch stopped working too..

I’ve been all over the world including all over the states. The amount of stars out here was astonishing. The milky way was visible as soon as it was sun down. I would stay here again without a second thought.

It was exactly as advertised. Everything went smoothly!

We are on an extended motorcycle tour and the day of our stay was rainy. This was a perfect spot to unwind from a stressful, cold, and wet day. We brought groceries for dinner and breakfast so we could stay in and totally relax. Charley had most everything we needed to make a lovely dinner. I would recommend a bowl to toss a salad, but all in all, what we needed was there. Too bad it was raining as we could have enjoyed the fire pit and hammock. Thank you Charley!

We stayed at The Turquoise Door for four nights and absolutely loved it. A tranquil setting not too far from grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Gorgeous 360 views and our own fire ring (wood provided) made evenings so pleasant to spend outdoors. Charley's place was stocked with coffee, tea, and many other items for cooking/consumption. We will definitely return and bring friends and family with us to enjoy these tiny houses again!

Upon arrival we breathed a sigh of relief after a disappointing hotel stay the night before. This is why Airbnb stays surpass hotels. Cozy, homey and clean clean clean. We will be returning as soon as we can!!!

Charley's place was great! Some very nice views and would've had incredible views of the starry sky if not for some lingering evening storms. Super cozy and comfortable place, although I will warn you the loft gets pretty warm (they have provided a small fan to help). Highly recommend this place and will consider staying here again if I'm back in the area.

What an absolute gem! The design of the interior makes you feel right at home. The beds are super comfy. The outdoor space is well designed. The kitchen does have a microwave (I couldn't tell from the listing) and the hot plate is easy to use. I loved the nearby area that you can walk to and with a great view of the valley and the river. I can't wait to come back and visit again!

The perfect little tiny home. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Loved sitting outside under the stars and watching the sunset. Very quiet area so it makes for a relaxing stay. I really enjoyed all the natural light and windows; you can watch the sunrise from your bed and watch the sunset as you're cooking dinner! Charley was a great host, made me feel very welcomed and answered my questions promptly. Can't wait to return!

Our stay at the Turquoise door was an amazing one! Charley's place is filled with anything one need and has this great look and vibe to it. The fire pit outside with the immense skys and mountains in the distance, makes it the perfect getaway. Charley recommended a hike (Crag Crest in Grand Mesa), DO IT! It's beyond gorgeous!

This place is amazing. Clean clean clean! Everything you could need. Perfect fire in evening. Great middle location to visit both the north and south rim of Black Canyon. Loft bed not good if you’re tall. Can’t wait to return. I’m sure it’s an amazing place for night skies, but cloud while I was there. Easy to get to and positive vibes.

We had a great time staying at Charley's place. You can't beat the natural light in the morning and the stars at night. We also loved chilling in the hammock while watching the sun set. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked which is always much appreciated especially if you forget some things. I would highly recommend staying here!

Charley's tiny homes are so cool and so well stocked with everything you could possibly need! The property is beautiful with mountain views directly in front of the home. The home is also great for stargazing on a clear night, and even has starlight windows built into the roof. It's in a great central location for everything western Colorado has to offer. I would very happily stay here again!

Between the ease of checking in and the adorable tiny cabin, Charley's airbnb was an amazing experience. The cabin was exactly what I needed to spend some time alone away from the city, and I highly recommend it! The views are gorgeous. The cabin is clean (and smells fantastic). Wow, what a fantastic place. The views were amazing, location so convenient. I really cannot think of any place I’ve ever stayed that was better equipped. There are so many thoughtful touches, it really feels like home. The fire pit and night sky was superb. Bedding and shower were comfortable and all you could ask for. Wifi- fast, easy, everything was easy. Great communication, can’t say enough good things, don’t hesitate to book this!

Cozy home!

Very cozy and intimate cabin. It looks small from the outside but there’s a good amount of space on the inside. The trail down the road that’s recommended by Charley is definitely worth looking at. It was very clean and Charley is very helpful and friendly.

If you need a respite; If you need time away from a world that is going too fast and won’t slow down; if you need quiet and beauty and peace in your life, I highly recommend a few nights at The Turquoise Door. After seven and a half months of caring for my aging parents and saying goodbye to one of them, I needed a place where my soul could be refreshed on my way back to being wife and mom to my own family. Colorado skies are a special kind of blue. The Gunnison River a beautiful kind of flow. Nighttime skies were so dark and so quiet the stars screamed in their brightest twinkles. Finally, The Turquoise Door was a perfect combination of modern amenities and minimalist living. I highly recommend exploring the trails along the Gunnison, flinging open the blinds before sunrise to watch the metamorphosis of colors as the sun peaks over the mountains right in front of you, and you absolutely must sleep “upside down” in the loft bed so you can watch those stars through the skylights above you before drifting off to sleep. I needed respite, so extensive exploring wasn’t my thing, but I knew if I wanted to there was so much to do within a short drive. Delta, CO is a mere 15 minutes away if you need groceries or grab a bite to eat, too. I will be back. Many times. My heart is always at home in Colorado and I have found a new favorite place to land when I visit. With Charley quick to respond to questions and help in navigating the area this was a great experience. Thanks, Charley - I look forward to the next time!

Extremely cute and cozy! Close to some amazing parks and wineries but far enough away to have that "we escaped the craziness!" feeling. 10 for 10 recommend!
